ABSTRACT EXPRESSIONIST ARTIST
Her Story
Claudia Storfer is an established international abstract artist with pieces in public and private collections worldwide. Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Claudia moved to the United States to continue her studies and start her family. Her love for the arts began in childhood as both her parents dedicated much of their free time to oil painting. When she was a child she excelled at writing, music, and ballet. She spent her summers and later her teenage years in the city of JunÃn, where she became profoundly connected to the nature of the region. By the age of six she was exposed to the world of painting through her mother’s art teachers including Alberto Bruzzone and Demetrio Urruchúa among others. One day her mother invited Claudia to see an art show where a much younger colleague of hers was exhibiting. The exhibition was held at the Teatro Gral. San MartÃn in the center of Buenos Aires. The artist was Pérez Celis, considered one of the best abstract painters of Latin America and at that moment, Claudia fell in love with the magic of his art.Â
In her early twenties she moved to New York and her interest in the fine arts grew deeper. Peréz Celis, and his wife Iris had moved to New York and she was able to share many hours with them at their Soho Studio where the master became her inspiration and foundation. She moved to Florida in the 1990’s where she studied Sociology and Education at Broward College, and received a Bachelor Degree in Arts from Florida Atlantic University, from de College of Art and Letters, and from the College of Higher education. She was an instructor, a language and linguistics teacher, a mentor and an administrator for many years. Additionally, she earned a Master’s Degree in Business, MBA oriented to Organizational management. Though immersed in her full-time career, she continued to study and create exceptional works of art and continued to exhibit worldwide.
She studied with several renowned Abstract Artists both in the United States and South America: Al Razza, Helena Distéfano, Heriberto Zorrilla and Guillermo Marzullo among others, and she continues painting with some of her masters when she is abroad.Â
Claudia works primarily with acrylic paint on canvas; however, she is known to work oil and cold wax, collage, asphaltic paints, inks and watercolor as well. As an abstract artist, her body of work is comprised of very organic forms and lines, creating a very close connection to her unique world of color and her appreciation for silent spaces. Her art is authentic, spontaneous and emotional. Claudia has won several awards and has exhibited in galleries and Museums globally. She currently lives in Florida.

Her Vision
"My abstract works represent my entire existence, from my daily breath to the memories of who I once was. Colors dance, embrace one another and become alive as I let my intuition take over, and from that personal encounter my images are born. Maps of memories, my own places; which I'm always searching for, become an endless path of possibilities. Color, passion and intention, together with my profound love for nature and the hidden secrets of the human essence, are the very basic elements that define my work. In that way, my spirit becomes visible time after time. Art is how I battle against the indifference of our times, and in this way, each of my works are able to offer my audience a different way of viewing the world.".
